Abbreviations in radio traffic

  • The abbreviations marked with an asterisk *) are a prerequisite for the BAKOM amateur exam.

  • The CAPITAL abbreviations indicate pairs of letters that are sent as a single Morse code.

  • Except for AR and BT, which are notated as '+' and '=' respectively, they have no character.

  • They are usually not written down as direct traffic signals to the operator at the other station because this is neither useful nor necessary.
