Radio Propagation Forecast for the 11m Band – 27 MHz 🌌 CB DX & 11-Meter Band Propagation Weather This page is dedicated to the current propagation conditions and radio weather for the 11-meter band (26–28 MHz), especially for CB DX and related activities. Here you will find important information and tools to monitor 11m band radio weather in real time. 📈 The 11-Meter Band and Its Propagation Characteristics The 11-meter band behaves similarly to HF but features unique propagation phenomena interesting for CB operators and DX hunters. Key propagation conditions: Sporadic E: Common in late spring and summer. Enables mostly short- to medium-range contacts (approx. 500–2000 km). F-layer propagation: Possible during high solar activity and sunspot cycles, supporting longer DX contacts. Tropospheric propagation (Tropo): Less common but can enhance short to medium range during weather inversions. 🌞 Radio Weather Factors for Optimal Conditions Solar cycle: High solar activity promotes propagation on 11m. Currently in Cycle 25 with rising activity. Solar Flux Index (SFI): Values above 100 indicate good propagation conditions. Geomagnetic quiet: A low K-index (<3) is ideal since strong geomagnetic disturbances can impair propagation. Time of day: Daytime usually offers better conditions, especially for Sporadic E. 🔄 Live Tools for Monitoring Radio Weather Use the following resources to track propagation conditions in real time: Solar data: Current SFI, K-index, sunspots, and X-ray flux MUF charts: Maximum usable frequency maps for propagation DX clusters: Real-time reports from CB and 11m operators WebSDR receivers: Listen live on 11-meter frequencies worldwide ⚠️ Note This page provides information on radio weather and propagation only. Legal or operational guidelines are not covered here. Please check local regulations separately. 📶 Good luck DXing and clear skies!
